mayn, i listened to the mixtape; bea nigga too. cant really say i didnt like it…Nasir still has the lyrical Prowness. i liked the production he got from GreenLantern, also his work with stickman from DeadPrezidents was aight…but its the mixtape..the album might be sumin different…

we’l jus hve to wait for it 2drop.

So let me get this straight, those who said that “the album would not see the light of day with that title”, had a problem with th album being called Nigger but let the track “Be A Nigger Too” be released!? Am I the only one who doesn’t see how this makes sense.

I support the arguments against the use of a word so degrading in the past. However, more than that, I believe artists are there to make a statement and get the public talking. So i really must commend Nas’ album achieving this (even months before release).

hip hop is about expression of the self. language has neva been a problem and if Nas wanna cal his song nigger let him call it that. this is the same with zubz’ song he’s not promoting violence wat he’s doing is shwoing the government that people are killing each other and sumthing should be done about that…soon. if u listen 2 da lyrics Nas mentions the late Lucky Dube and that niggas are killing other niggas

who is holding dat panga? its a black person n he’s gonna kill his own. if people are not allowed to express themselves then they might as well kill hip hop…i’m tired of hearing how shortey’s gonna dip it low…its about tym we face real issues man

well well well, Nasir Jones. in early rap diction, the reason for droppin N**ga in rap verses was always attributed to the need to desensitice the derogatory meaning of the word for the youth.

it is thus not suprising that making mention of the N word in such a manner as to stire up controvercy is not a fisrt for rap. infact earlier on this year ill Bill, former member of the now defucnt rap group Non-Phixion released an album entitled La coca Nostra… seeing that Ill bill is a caucasian the release of the song “white Ni**a” on the album saw him burnt at the stake by album critics and music consumers alike.

will Nas face the same rebuke? i dont know, what i do know is that hes got some gonnads for sayin whats on the minds of many people, people who arent brave enuf to say what they shy away from but always think about…cant wait for the LP to drop. SAN
